ZenDisk Privacy Policy - Fivenine Design

This policy describes how information is handled in ZenDisk ("the App"), a macOS application provided by Fivenine Design ("the Developer"). The App is built on a simple principle: by default, your data never leaves your Mac.

1. Data Collection

The App does not collect any personal information or usage data.

By default, the App performs no network communication. All data — including scan results, file names, and statistics — is processed entirely on your Mac
The App can only access folders you explicitly select (enforced by the macOS sandbox)
The App contains no analytics tools, advertising SDKs, or crash reporters

2. AI Diagnosis (optional feature)

AI Diagnosis is disabled by default. It operates only when you enable it in Settings and explicitly run it:

Only metadata (file and folder names, sizes, counts) is sent. File contents are never transmitted
You can preview the full payload before anything is sent (and review it afterwards from the result screen at any time)

Two routes are available:

Via the ZenDisk server (default): requests are relayed to the AI provider (OpenRouter) through a server operated by the Developer. The relay does not store or log your payload. To manage the free quota, it keeps only an anonymous device identifier and a monthly usage count — nothing that identifies you personally — and these records are automatically deleted after roughly two months
Your own API key: requests go directly to OpenRouter using your own API key stored in the macOS Keychain. Nothing passes through the Developer's servers, and the Developer never receives your data

3. Purchases

ZenDisk Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple. The Developer verifies only Apple's signed transaction to confirm subscription status, and never has access to your payment details (such as credit card numbers).

4. File Deletion

All deletions performed by the App move items to the macOS Trash. Nothing is permanently erased directly.

5. Third-Party Disclosure

The Developer does not share your information with third parties except as required by law. Transmissions to the AI provider described in Section 2 are limited to what is necessary to provide the feature.

6. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Significant changes will be announced on this page and in the App.
